February 2017 - Asnuntuck Community College's Advanced Manufacturing Center is the national model for the future of manufacturing education. U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, a strong proponent of workforce education, toured this new 27,000 square foot building, which, beginning in June, will be training program graduates for immediate $60-70K/year in private aerospace and defense manufacturing. Downes worked closely with the College to plan for the intricacies of this type of facility and our work included: Coordination of overhead systems with machines due to their height
